Hydro Jet Sewer Cleaning: Get things “Back in the flow” fast!

When your plumbing gets backed up, it’s never just an inconvenience - it’s a full-on headache. Clogs in the sewer line can cause a myriad of issues, from unpleasant odors to slow drains, and can even disrupt your home or business entirely.

If you’re wondering how to get your plumbing system back to normal quickly, hydro jetting might be the solution you need.

What is hydro jetting?

Hydro jetting is an excellent way to clean your sewer system, and it is used to blast away blockages, debris, grease buildup, tree roots, and even scale from inside your pipes. Unlike traditional plumbing methods, which rely on snaking or chemical cleaners, hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to forcefully clear out even the most stubborn debris, helping to restore your system to its full flow capacity.

Why choose hydro jetting?

Hydro jetting is a preventative maintenance tool that can help prolong the life of your sewer system and keep things flowing smoothly. It’s a powerful, effective method to clear even the toughest blockages.

At Allied Reddi-Rooter, it’s often incorporated as part of the process when cleaning a clogged sewer line. Here’s how:

Steps to clearing a clogged sewer line

When an Allied Reddi-Rooter plumber arrives to unclog a sewer line, here’s the typical process to get it cleaned and working again:

Sewer auger first: Usually, the plumber will start by running a sewer auger, a long hose with a rotating cutting blade at the end that helps clear most blockages, including tree roots and other debris that can create partial blockages in the line.

Video inspection: If the auger doesn’t fully clear the blockage or if the issue persists, our plumber will perform a video inspection. This allows them to see exactly what’s going on inside your pipes. If the pipes are still clearable, the auger will be used again to finish the job.

Hydro jetting: Once the pipes are cleared, the final step is to perform hydro jetting. This high-pressure water blast will scrub away any remaining buildup, grease, or sludge from the walls of the sewer line. Hydro jetting ensures that the pipes are fully cleaned and restored to their optimal flow capacity.
